Six Flags (Los Angeles, California)

I had lost my Iphone on a ride because I had forgot it was in my pocket and was told to go to guest services about it. After going to guest services I told the lady that my Iphone had a tracker and I could tell her exactly where my phone was located. I was then told that their "supervisor" will do a track walk at 9:00 p.m. (which is when the park is closed) to find all lost items because all the roller coaster will be shut down in order for them to search for any items and that I should check "Ticket Will Call" to see if my phone was found at the end of the day.

I put in a report minutes after i talked to the lady at guest services and from the time she told me they would start searching I started to call my phone to help anyone who was searching because my ringer was on and it also has multiple flashes when I get a text message or call. I called my phone back to back for 45 minutes straight while waiting inside the park.

Before leaving the park I tracked my phone one more time to see if they had found my phone, but it was still in the same location. So I found another employee next to where my phone was located and asked her if there was anyone she could call to go and grab my phone, because me and my friends all seen where my phone was located due to the flash. The lady made a call and told me that they were sending someone over to help me retrieve my phone and that they would use my tracker and call to go grab it, but I would have to go and talk to a "supervisor" at Ticket Will Call.

I went to the Ticket Will Call, which was outside of the gates and the lady at the front desk said that she did not receive a call from anyone about going to go get my phone and that no one would be able to go and search where my phone was located and lied various times about talking to her "manager" and "supervisor" in the back room. Also told me that the "supervisor" that completes the track walks had already left. I asked to speak with her manager and she said the manager was not in yet and that she would be there in a couple of minutes to speak to another customer.

After waiting 30 minutes she said her manager was still not in. So i took upon myself to speak with a different employee (who I think was security or something like that). I told this man my situation and what happened and he told me that he would try to make a call to help me find my phone and he told me that the "supervisor" that does the track walk was not going to be doing any track walk that night and there would be no way I could get my phone back that night, which made me very upset due to the fact that everyone I had talked would tell me there was a supervisor there, then there wasn't a supervisor there.

Personally I wouldn't waste the effort of trying to get your item back, because their employees just give you the run around and will say anything just to get you out of the park.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $600.

Preferred solution: My item to be found and sent to me.

Six Flags Pros: Roller coaster.

Six Flags Cons: Customer service.

Location: Los Angeles County, California

Well, next time you're make sure your phone is secured. Lesson learned (one can only hope).

So, here's the deal. You lost your phone despite multiple warnings to secure your belongings in a chubby or in the coasters/ride bags.

I find it tough to believe you "forgot it was in your pocket". But, nonetheless,it happened. You kept saying you can't understand why someone couldn't just grab your phone. Presumably, if it required a track walk, the phone was outside easy access points.

Whenever someone has to walk the track, especially at night, it requires multiple safety precautions. First, it's dark, so OSHA requires that flood lights or other safety lighting be on. This isn't something parks like to do with guests in the park. Second, two people, other than the walker, have to go through a checklist to insure that all trains and systems are stored away and, in some cases, in a special shut down mode to insure that the track walker is not hit with a train.

Third, the track walker has to put on a safety harness or other gear as per OSHA and company policy. This takes a minimum of about an hour after the GATES are closed. Whether you could see or hear the phone is irrelevant. They can't just hop a fence and get it.

Also, a supervisor capable of track walks has to be signed off on that coaster.

So, because the sup usually does the morning safety check, he/she might not be available at closing.

Great answer! Why not to give this information to the "Lost Phone Guy" right there at the park instead of giving him very controversial options?

Or your employee does not know that? Luck of knowledge of the park rules and poor training of Six Flags employees is the only explanation.

Why do people ASSume that someone who states the obvious is an employee? Why does the OP not take any responsibility for being careless?

Great response but watch out. Soon you'll be accused of working for Six Flags.
